The 316 stainless steel perforated sheet is a punched metal panel for screens, guards and ventilated covers. Its 316 or 316L substrate is selected where the service exposure calls for that stainless grade. Openings admit air, liquid or suitably sized particles, while the metal between them keeps the sheet continuous. Unpunched margins provide space for fasteners and later forming. Hole diameter, pitch and open area influence how the screen passes material. A flat blank can therefore become a washable process face, a framed insert or a bent cover. Chemical compatibility still depends on the actual medium and operating conditions.
